Why a Sheepadoodle?

Sheepadoodles are one of the best dog breeds for their perfect combination of personality and non-shedding coats!

 

Personality traits commonly praised by owners: Gentle, sweet, cuddly, happy, affectionate, and loyal. They love people, other pets, and are exceptionally good with children.

​

They are very intelligent, and easily trainable, making them great service dogs. Sheepadoodles have the best characteristics out of two amazing dog breeds.

 

Physical characteristics of Sheepadoodles include: Fewer health issues than either parent breed alone, non-drooling, exceptionally soft hair, and non-shedding hair coats which are nearly hypoallergenic. Colors can include solid or mixed colors: black and white, brown and white, and merle!

• F1 Standard and Mini size Sheepadoodles. (50% Old English Sheepdog and 50% standard or mini Poodle.)

• F1B Standard and Mini size (25% Old English Sheepdog and 75% standard or mini Poodle.)

• F2 "Teddy Bear" Standard size. (F1 Sheepadoodle and F1 Sheepadoodle.)

Why mix a poodle with an old english sheepdog?

​

Poodles are highly intelligent, often ranking as the 2nd most intelligent dog breed, making them easily trainable. They are known for their dignified attitude and protective nature, with a playful streak. Poodles have "hair" instead of "fur" making them shed significantly less than dogs who shed their entire fur coats once yearly.

They were originally bred in Germany as a water-dog for hunting water fowl.

Old English Sheepdogs are good natured, sociable and affectionate. They make wonderful companions, love their people, yet are independent. The Old English Sheepdog was originally bred in England as a herding dog. They are excellent watchdogs!
